This afternoon we stumbled upon one of my new favorite foodie shops while strolling down Newbury Street in downtown Boston. Boston Olive Oil Company was this amazing little store tucked away on Newbury with over 50 varieties of imported Extra Virgin Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegars that you can sample before making your selection. If they don’t have a pre-packaged bottle of the type you choose, they will pour you a bottle right from one of the stainless steel Fusti’s (Italian storage canisters) in the store.
Everyone in the store was extremely knowledgable about each of the oils and vinegars. It was especially fun to try some of the oil and vinegar pairings that they would mix up for you. For the quality, they were pretty reasonably priced. We settled on a single bottle of the Tuscan Herb Extra Virgin Olive Oil, but we will definitely be going back in the not too distant future for more! Check the Boston Olive Oil Company out if you’re ever in Boston and get the chance…your taste buds will thank you.
